Thierry France Pey, contemporary visual artist,
was born in Vaucluse and lives in Avignon, his beloved city. After
25 years in the world of decorative publishing,
he founded l'Écho des Expos Dakar, an observatory
dedicated to visual artists in the Senegalese capital. Following
this rich journey, he chose to fully dedicate himself to his
artistic practice: drawing and painting. His work
has been featured in several major events, including the
Dakar Biennale,
Mare Nostrum (Beaucaire), and the
Arteastic Gallery (Avignon).
Between bold surrealism and
figurative abstraction, Thierry France Pey
develops a singular universe inhabited by hybrid creatures: beings
with bird, rabbit, or rhinoceros heads, wandering through mental
landscapes and the wastelands of our forgotten dreams. His
characters are neither fully human nor fully animal — they smoke
cigarettes, meditate, or silently roam, on the edge of reality and
imagination.
A painter of buried dreams and silent emotions,
Thierry France Pey defines himself as a
reporter of the inner world, an explorer of
dreamlike depths. His style is defined by a
mixed media technique, combining
natural pigments, oil paints,
and pastels, in the service of a free and
resolutely contemporary expression.
